Super Daddy

Patrick has been amazing, just phenomenal over the last few weeks since Amelia's birth.  With Monday being Amelia's and my first day at home alone, without grandparent help, he surprised me and arranged everything to be as easy as possible on me. So when I entered Amelia's room on Monday morning, I found this lovely breakfast tray awaiting me!

He tried out the Moby Wrap before I did (and made a really good supper in the process!)

And here is what you get when a new mom is at home with a digital camera and her happy baby (I assume this is what you're really reading this blog for anyways!):

More than Surviving

Our first week and a half home with Amelia has revolved around her eating and sleeping schedule while enjoying time with the grandparents who have come to visit and help us.  She is a great baby and only really fusses when she's hungry or during diaper changes.  She does like to party at night and sleep during the day, but we know this is normal.  We have taken much delight in watching her when she's alert as well as when she's sleeping.

Stealing snuggles during supper.

Cousins Maddie Grace & Dana sent some adorable bows. This is one of our favorites - she needs to grow into it a bit!

At 5:47pm on July 6th we celebrated her 1 week birthday.

Happy Independence Day!

While we didn't watch any fireworks (we tried to sleep through their noise actually) or see any parades, we did grill out for the 4th of July and attempted a small amount of color coordination.

The first days

Amelia has enjoyed sweet time with her daddy. The nursery nurse made comments on the sharpness of her nails, so Daddy gave her first manicure (just a filing!) when we got home from the hospital.

Amelia loves to track her daddy and gives him lots of smiles.

Sleep deprived, but enjoying time together.
First bath at home - she loved getting her hair washed.

Now a family of three

Here are some photos of the day we came home with Amelia from the hospital.

Amelia's Debut

Amelia Anne Hanks made her debut on Wednesday, June 29 at 5:47pm EST. She weighed 8.0 lbs and measured 21 inches long. She has light brown that appears to be curly; we think this is a neat combination of the two of us.

One of the things we have learned about Amelia is that she loves to sleep with one arm sticking out of her swaddling and loves to roll to her side.

Getting her footprints taken after her first hospital bath.

The hospital nursery nurse knew a cool trick to make Amelia hold her own footprint keepsake.
