We made a last minute decision to spend a few days before Easter on a road trip to Pinnacles National Park & Monterey Bay Aquarium.
This tree made us stop and research; we learned all about acorn woodpeckers and their "granary trees".
Starting to see some of the pinnacle formations along the Condor Gulch hike. It took us awhile, but we started to identify the difference between the California Condors and turkey vultures in the area.
Off-roading
Succulents growing on the side of boulders
Picnic refreshments
Hike to the Talus Caves - formed from the volcanic rocks falling over on top of each other rather than from water carving out underground caverns.
Getting ready to go inside the caves. Taking photos in the dark is near impossible, but the caves were definitely the kids' favorite part of the trip to Pinnacles.
We had to hike UP to a reservoir - completely unexpected.
Amelia & I snagged a geocache right outside the entrance of the National Park.
It was drizzly when we headed to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, but we were able to see the sea otters playing outside during times where the rain slowed down.

She loves touch tanks.
The sea otter feedings were the favorite!
These two were enraptured by the jelly fish room.
