Hot Air Balloon Chasing & a Park Visit with Uncle Nathan

Uncle Nathan had a class nearby and came to spend the weekend with us. He was able to arrive in time for our annual attempt at hot air balloon chasing.

Watching the launch

We were able to find one landing!

Colleen moved on quickly to enjoying climbing in and out of Amelia's seat.

Another balloon landed on the other side of the road too!

On Saturday, we headed to Duke Island Park so that Amelia could practice her bike riding.

We trekked down to the 'pebble beach'.

Austin said something funny.

Sad that Uncle Nathan had to leave...

Happy that it won't be long until she sees him again!

Thanks Uncle Nathan for spending the weekend with us! We all enjoyed it so much!

Rain Bubbles, Zoo & Unexplored Trails

This girl is climbing on anything and everything.

Starting the week off with feeding the turtles.

These crazies love watching me wind a bobbin. They'll stop whatever they're doing when the bobbin noise starts.

Excited to start her second week of dance camp.

Enjoying his donut treat for dry nights.

It's been a long time since they've asked to play in the rain.

Watching the fun from the dry comfort of the garage.

Catching bubbles in the rain
(Amelia has one on her arm; Austin has one on his nose.

One of the kiwi crate recommended activities was making dinner bread in the shape of bones.

On our way to Turtleback Zoo, we stopped to pick up a diaper sale. The kids were stoked when they saw their own sized carts.

Snacktime after arrival at the zoo.

The weather was perfect; the cool temperatures brought out active animals.

Demarkus the lion finally came out of hiding.

Amelia saw a docent and brought her questions about the gibbons to her.

Lunch by the bald eagles

We had extra excitement as they were slowly removing a tree right next to the train.

Grumpy faces on the train

Early morning dress-up

One morning while Amelia was in her dance camp, we discovered a fun natural train near a new-to-us park. I slid Colleen in the back carrier, and we took off to explore.

Finally making progress on the queen scrap quilt I'd set aside for years.

Colleen has taken to setting the table when I'm cooking in the kitchen.
