Kalahari Thanksgiving 2023

We flew all day on Sunday to arrive in Austin & drive to the Kalahari resort to meet up with Grammie & Pappy, Aunt Lori & Uncle Stevie, Eli, Wes, & Baby Finn. We arrived just as they were leaving the waterpark, but we all had fun catching up in the lobby.

It was too late for getting in the waterpark, but the kids had fun doing the indoor ropes course.

Ready to go on Monday morning! We had lots of fun exploring the water park and getting Baby Finn snuggles.

Tired but excited for Tuesday at the waterpark

This donut-milkshake special had been advertised all over the waterpark. So Patrick & the kids splurged on it for afternoon snack.

Wednesday breakfast where Finn was still the most desired meal companion

After the morning at the waterpark, the kids enjoyed the indoor theme park & ropes course before we headed to San Antonio.

These two had fun with their puzzles & games at the dinner table. Sadly, Austin started a fever this night.

Thursday Thanksgiving meal
Austin was feeling awful; Amelia had been fine until we got to the restaurant. She ended up with a virus and getting sick in the restaurant hallway. So our family had to make a quick exit with 2 sick kids and got them tucked into bed for an afternoon of TV and resting.

Mom & Dad took turns hanging out with the sick kids while the rest of the family played games in the hotel lobby.

Patrick ended up taking Austin to an urgent care on Thursday night because he started croup. They got him a breathing treatment & inhaler. Amelia's fever broke, and she was super-congested but well enough to fly. So we kept our plans to travel back to California on Friday evening.

Snuggles with Finn before we left.

We made a stop at this mission while we had time before our flight. We walked around and enjoyed the sunshine

Our flight home was drama-free except Colleen starting her own low grade fever inflight. So we continued to pass around the motrin and decongestants until we could get everyone tucked into their own beds that night.
