Patrick's 40th Getaway at Great Wolf Lodge

Happy 40th Birthday Patrick!

Patrick's birthday started with a family snuggle.

We set out on a surprise for the kids. Our first stop was lunch at Chick-fil-A with a milkshake shared 4 ways.

Patrick had found a deal at Great Wolf Lodge for Thur-Fri. We weren't supposed to be able to check into our room until after 4pm, but it was ready when we showed up for the water park at 1pm. The kids were so excited in their log-themed bed nook.

I didn't get my phone out much over the 28 hours we were there; but I did take a few photos of the different activities the kids enjoyed. The loved trying to be water ninjas across the floating pads. The water slides were so exciting; they paired up and went down over and over and over. We actually stayed until closing on Thursday night at 8pm because the crowds were so small that the kids didn't have to stand in line for the slides.

Ready for another day of water fun!

First Snow of the Season

We played at new friends' home & they had this amazing setup in their living room. It usually has swing on it, but they varied the attachments so the kids could climb.

On Friday night, we watched Night at the Museum again for our movie night.

Amelia & Colleen tried to take it outside and spray paint some more, but the wind was too troublesome.

Colleen decided that she wanted to learn how to skate backwards. So she's been practicing and teaching herself!

Amelia was practicing using both legs.

On Wednesday, Mrs. Laura asked if we could go on a hike at Round Valley Reservoir with her and her new baby Emma. Emma was only a couple of weeks old! The most exciting part for the kids was that it started to snow while we were on our hike. It's the first snow we've had all season.

It snowed enough to gather snowballs & throw them.

Sadly, all the snow disappeared as we drove down the mountain towards home.
Later that evening, Patrick received surprise 40th birthday packages from his brother and parents - bison and beef! They know the way to his heart is through his stomach.
