The LORD your God is with you,
he is mighty to save.
He will take great delight in you,
he will quiet you with his love,
he will rejoice over you with singing.
Zephaniah 3:17
We had a super windy day and Amelia mentioned at breakfast that it would be a good day for kite flying. Daddy surprised us by coming home early for kite flying. So we headed to the nearby park and got to flying. The pure joy and giggling coming from Amelia was worth every moment.
Daddy getting started.
Amelia's turn
There was a lot of this.
Austin was pretty miserable with the cold winds and just wanted to stay in Mom's lap while Amelia and Daddy flew the kite. But he did enjoy watching it all.
With a week of health under our belts we were able to have a playdate with a friend, Adelaide. She's going to be a big sister soon after our munchkin comes.
So the kids had a library book with some volcano references and persuaded Daddy to show them volcano videos from youtube on the new tv.
The kids were having a fun time with the yo-yo that Mrs. Donna sent.
Showing off a new onesie for the baby.
With an onslaught of boxes from Easter in the house, the kids asked me to build them a castle/fort. While I don't win any awards for box building, the kids have sure loved it.
Amelia loves her Goldie Blox spinning machine set and all its variations.
We had a gorgeous couple of days and ran immediately to the park.
Our Easter week fun included egg coloring - but not traditional dying. I had seen this shaving cream method on pinterest and I thought the kids would enjoy trying it. It was a hit - they had fun rolling their eggs in the shaving cream with food coloring and the mess on their hands afterwards.
The finished product - success!
They had SO much fun with the Easter activity books that Uncle Nathan & Aunt Laura sent.
Coloring chalkboard eggs
Daddy set up multiple egg hunts for the kids inside and outside
Easter morning
We had a simple Easter supper. The kids were thrilled for the candles and had the best behavior for the meal. So we've had multiple meals with candles since.
Amelia's school had a special morning where each mom could come into the classroom and spend the morning participating and watching. I had gotten a baby sitter for the morning and surprised Amelia by taking her to lunch. I gave her free choice on where we would go and she insisted on sushi at our favorite sushi restaurant. This girl was giddy to eat her miso soup and california roll and talk about the morning.
During a round of hide-and-seek, I found the kids in our bathtub. Austin was thrilled to play in it for awhile.
The microphone the kids received at Christmas lasted about 48 hours before being broken. While I worked on fixing it for awhile, I had contacted the company to see if they had a replacement part. Instead of sending me a part (which I eventually got from Home Depot), they sent me an entirely new microphone and guitar set. So now the kids have two microphones and two guitars and enjoy their jamming sessions.
Some painting for our great grandparents.
For Great Granddaddy's 90th birthday
Rohit & Ishita came for an evening. Austin made Rohit get into his spaceship box and play with him.
Amelia read to them before bedtime.
A little stamp art
Going to preschool's Easter Egg hunt. It was Austin's first hunt. They split the kids by age so I just have photos of Austin.
Afterward we made our weekly library visit. The librarian pulled out that week's robot craft for the kids. They had so much fun doing it!
Amelia was invited to her first big birthday party - it was "princess" themed so she wore the Cinderella dress that Donna had sewn her. The party had an Aurora come entertain and Amelia LOVED to watch her paint everyone's hands.
While we were at the party, Daddy and Austin went to Buffalo Wild Wings and watched basketball. This boy has talked about eating dinner at a restaurant with Daddy for days. He's showing off his camera smile here.
The first day of spring = free Italian Ice at Rita's. It was a short line to get ours, probably because it was snowing while we got it. We enjoyed it in our warm car while watching it snow.
