Snow Tubing

We have wanted to take the kids snow tubing and had hoped for a snowy weekend; since the winter has been so mild, we just chose a weekend and invited Delaney and Sawyer and their parents to join us. Colleen was tall enough to participate, and we knew that her thrill-seeking heart would love it.

A little hot chocolate after our 3 hours were over.

Colleen insisted that she hold Delaney's hand as we left.

After dinner, the kids performed a talent show for us. There were songs and great costumes. Austin did karate; Sawyer pretended to be a clown. Sawyer & Delaney also sang the Classical Conversations history song for us; it was impressive.

Colleen loved having so many playmates. Unfortunately, Sawyer started a fever at bedtime on Saturday night, so their family left earlier than planned.

It was gorgeous out on Sunday afternoon, so we went to the park. Austin & Dad practiced baseball while Amelia built a fort.

We welcomed our first family pet - a betta fish named "Hanks Junior", called "Junior." The kids are thrilled. Let's pray that we can keep it alive.

Crayola Deals & Fun

Our neighbor is constantly sharing her Indian food with us. Literally, she sends some food over weekly. She says its because she's so excited that we all enjoy it so much. On this particular day, she told me that she wanted to make Austin's favorite so she sent dum aloo over just for him.

Crayola was running two big promotions in February - free preschoolers and half-priced adults with members. So Suzy, Ian & Maisie joined us for a day of fun.

She talks nonstop about her birthday. She asked me to draw a cake with four candles. Then she proceeded to decorate it and tell me it was her birthday cake.
Also, note her great fashion sense as she dresses herself now. She insists on tucking her shirt in; we have no idea where it came from.

Austin was awarded his black stripe in karate, meaning he is allowed to test for a green belt as soon as we sign his forms. He gave the sensei big hugs.

Colleen continues to have so much fun in her swim lessons.
