Reservoir x3

We tried another trail that was still open, starting at a historical house and riding through some woods, a neighborhood and ending at a library. It was an amazingly beautiful day.

Family soccer

She is going to miss having Dad read to her before rest time many days when he goes back to work.

Later in the afternoon, we were going to go riding at another park, but it was super-packed. So we changed plans and headed to an open field near the river. We let the kids bring their digital cameras, and they happily took photos for an hour while we relaxed.

Sneaking in a hair cut before bedtime.

School this week was all about 'L' - ladybugs!

So grateful for this refuge as it gets warmer.

A family with their horse and carriage and another single horse rode up to the water's edge!

Two days in a row!
This crew is well-trained on dividing up carrying tasks.

A friend gave us these flannel boards and a ton of scene parts.

Painting our pinch pots

We have been so blessed by the weekly Misfits Market delivery. Not only do we get fresh produce, but we've had fun meal-planning around what arrives each week.

Three days in a week! Amazing!

Now that we've completed half of the alphabet, the big kids did another letter hunt for Colleen. She's all about selfies when she completes a project now.

I've noticed a big deficiency in Amelia's comprehension of parts of speech. So we've added it to our daily school routine and invited Austin to join us. Colleen and I did a word hunt for the big kids; Colleen was VERY excited to hid sticky notes for them. Then the kids completed their word sort.

The highlight of this Friday afternoon was playing Battleship against their cousins, Harrison & John Hudson.

Christmas in May

This girl glows when she's riding her bike and allowed to lead the way.

Our bean seedlings are taking off.

Amelia had read in a book how to make a candle from a clementine. So she and Patrick set it up, and it worked!

Kinetic sand for all!

Keeping Colleen busy during school time

I saw this online, and it was a major hit. I told her to put the animals and cars "on parade". She easily spent over an hour playing with this.

Amelia graciously offered for Colleen to join her for art again this week. Colleen's art actually matched Amelia's pretty well.

The kids rode in circles around our pool area one sunny day. Austin decided to take a nap in the grass.

Lunch outside!

Virtual karate

Making pinch pots

The most glorious week of the year to be looking out our dining room window.

"I want a selfie Mama!"

The kids had May 1 off from school as a 'give back' for not taking snow days. Our theme for the day - Christmas in May - was inspired by three gingerbread kits that a friend gave the kids well after Christmas.

We stayed in our pjs and started with a nativity craft.

Christmas yoga

Gingerbread RV, truck & house

During Colleen's rest time, I let the big kids work on a large Christmas house kit.

Christmas in May would not be complete without cookies. Austin made his maple syrup cookies from his Canada box.
