Sweetness with Friends - Blueberries & Gardens

We started our week with blueberry picking with our co-op.

Our group went to a nearby park for lunch. Once everyone left the park, we spent some time geocaching on the backroads while on the way home.

Strawberries from our garden!

Making "cookies" with kinetic sand

Lucy and Hosanna came over and played dress up.

Colleen has been taking gymnastics lessons with Brynn every Wednesday morning. Originally Amelia & Austin had packed books to entertain themselves; Deborah had packed distractions for Logan & Rylie. But the four kids have spent most of the summer entertaining each other. The bonds they are forming are so sweet. I've seen a lot of maturity and growth in our big kids as they love on these little ones.

Watching the kids for an hour after gymnastics.

We used library passes to get into the Santa Barbara Botanical Gardens for the afternoon. It was absolutely gorgeous!

This sweetness surprised us all. He looks for her, keeps her safe, lets her use him as a human jungle gym and carrier service, and works so hard to make her smile.

We ran into Kailey with Riley, Wyatt, & Fritz at the gardens. So the kids spent a decent amount of time playing in the creek together.

Grammie & Pappy Visit CA

Just before Grammie & Pappy arrived, we saw an oriole land in our backyard!

And we finished the 18th century figures puzzle while Amelia was fighting a fever.

On our first day with Grammie & Pappy, we took them to the SB Harbor & Maritime Museum.

Walk along the breakwater

On Tuesday the kids worked on a beading project.

Wednesday morning we took Grammie to Stearn's Wharf while Pappy had to work.

We stopped at the Sea Center.

Then later in the afternoon, we took Grammie & Pappy to the Natural History museum to see the butterfly exhibit that opened on Monday.

Going on a beach walk

Although Amelia had been struggling with a fever all week, she was well enough to go to her rehearsal on Friday night and her recitals on Saturday and Sunday.
