The kids have been infatuated with the world map we hung up in the hallway.
Austin had a pile of fun paper airplane books and papers; he invited some friends over to make paper airplanes and throw them into targets. The boys had a blast.
When they became too hot, they came inside to play games. Austin had developed a board game a few weeks prior and taught it to Jackson. When Jackson arrived for the paper airplane party, he brought his version of Austin's game for them to play.
Playing a cooperative game
Amelia kept busy baking cookies while the boys were over.
Homeschool beach day
Brianna invited us over to play on their ranch property. The kids had a blast - Benjamin, Isaac, & Jacob have all the weapons, forts, and structures that a kid could dream of.
Deborah watched the kids for an hour while I had a doctor appointment. She sent me a photo of these buds.
These two started their summer Personal Finance class. They have to start off deciding careers and setting up a budget.
Beach date with another family. Colleen and Cody had a blast putting together this "storefront."
While we are officially done with school, we still have some science that we've been finishing up. We drove to the National Weather Service office in Oxnard for a field trip tour that I had set up. The kids learned all about the history of the NWS and a bit about weather. We were able to go into their main room where all the data from satellites comes in; our tour guide showed us many different ways to manipulate and utilize the data.
We went outside to see their "garden" of all kinds of weather collecting technology.
We knew there was a geocache in the parking lot of the NWS and came prepared with a large thermos of water. The kids found it with a strong giggle. The geocache was in plain sight, staged as a rain gauge. We had to stop the bottom hole with a finger while filling the gauge with water to float the geocache to the top. Then we could pull it out and sign it. Quite a unique cache!
