Radio Station Field Trip

Field Trip to a local Radio Station

This radio personality does a 4 hour talk show from 5-9AM. He advised kids to take every opportunity to speak publically.

This lady hosts an afternoon show; she shared all about her journey from working in radio in high school.

This gentlemen creates advertisements and manages public interactions. He showed the kids how to piece together advertisements and taught all about radio equipment.

At the end of our visit, he took us to a very popular Hispanic radio host. He asked for a volunteer, but no one offered. So Amelia was chosen since she was the oldest kid on the tour. The radio host interviewed Amelia. Later he edited the interview and sent us a file with background music and sound effects added in.

 Such a fun field trip!

New Gymnastics & Swimming to Start the Year

 Colleen started off the year by moving up to a higher level gymnastics class.

Beach time

Our neighbor who gives us eggs called me to let me know she had an extraordinarily large egg. She thought the kids would like to open it to see if there was a double yolk. The egg was huge!

Started swim lessons for all 3 kids - for Colleen to relearn how to swim and for the big kids to learn the backstroke, breaststroke and butterfly stroke in addition to how to dive and turn.

Patrick had to start the year with a trip to Houston. He went in a day early so he could have time with Ishita, Rohit, and Viann as well as a quick coffee with Carla. It was sweet for him to have time to reconnect with friends.

Renee & Steve Come to Visit

Renee and Steve were in Arizona for Christmas and decided to drive a bit further to visit us. We spent our first evening playing one of our new Christmas games. 

We took them to the Harbor and Wharf to see the touristy SB places.

On Sunday after church, Patrick and the kids took them to the rose gardens by the Mission and to the Botanical Gardens.
