Apple Picking Saturday

Saturday morning sisters

Daddy tried feeding again.

Coffee was WAY more interesting than food.

Post-apple picking football watching, combined with mommy basting a quilt.
Keeping it real.

After the game, the whole family got into making apple butter.

Colleen - 6 Months

We had the dreariest weather for days followed by busy days so we had to put off Colleen's 6 month photos. And then I couldn't find her 6 month sticker for a bit. But we were able to put together these photos to commemorate these days.

Colleen remains our petite gal although she has hit a growth spurt, wanting bottles more often than before. We continued to try to feed her for a week, and then decided to pause as she was pretty disinterested. She's happy to chew on the spoon though and tries to clear the table whenever she sits up next to it. Austin can make her giggle better than anyone else, just by laughing nearby her. Amelia remains the best help, comforting her when I can't get nearby quickly and singing to her often. She enjoys practicing sitting up and tummy-time, but still loves just scooting on her back to move around (developing a bald spot!) Thankfully she continues to go along on our daily adventures without too many difficulties; she rarely gets a good morning nap, just snoozing as we get in and out of the car or in the Moby. But she has started taking long afternoon naps and falling asleep without assistance.
She has figured out how to 'gargle' and loves to make those noises. She is teething fiercely but no signs of any teeth yet; her daddy's knuckles are her clear favorite for teething.  She handles drop-off at CBS and the YMCA fine for now. She is our outside-girl - almost any crankyness can be handled by walking outside, and she'll spend 2 hours in a bouncy seat just watching her siblings play on the driveway and enjoying the outside.

Her giggles and expressions are awesome.

She is all about her feet these days. If she can reach them, she will grab them!

Big sister was helping her smile!

What a fast half-year!

Grandma & Granddaddy Come to Visit

Grandma & Granddaddy arrived on a drizzly Saturday. After rest time, the kids wanted to jump off of something. So they put on garbage bag parachutes and jumped off the front steps.

Colleen's first food

She was not impressed.

Family Scrabble Jr.

Colleen loved playing in Granddaddy's lap.

Mini-apples are the kids' favorite snack right now.

We did the straw paintings from Amelia's water wheel kiwi crate.

They are watching real rocket launches.

Is there anything better than chewing and having the attention of grandparents?

We went for pony rides! The kids still love it!

Someone new to meet the school bus - fantastic!

He does this every day.

Enjoying a bit of sunshine with our Sunshine.

While it was quick visit, the kids enjoyed it so much. They pretended airplane and rockets for days after. They loved all the time reading and pretending. Thank you Grandma & Granddaddy for coming!
