Mussels & Christmas Trees

Assorted photos from our time together in between visitors and traveling.

I made mussels one evening and was so proud of Amelia in trying them and liking them and asking for more. Of course, she demolished the homemade fries that went with them.

We're opting for super simple this holiday season. We did a "Thankful Tree" - Amelia and I gathered some branches at the park and cut out leaves from construction paper. Each night after supper, we wrote down one or two things we are thankful for and tied them on the branches. We don't know how much she understood about the season, but she was very excited to review all the things we had put on the tree so far.

Amelia made this cute 'table runner' with my mom out of paper and real leaves, cutouts of food, fabric leaves, etc.

When we went to set up our Christmas tree, we discovered that the basement flood had damaged it more than we thought. So Patrick and Amelia went out to buy a new one. She'd love to tell you all about going to Home Depot to get it.

The bubble wrap (or "pop pops") was more exciting than the tree for much of the night.

Austin's face when the camera flash goes off cracks me up - he gets this shocked face.

Amelia decided that Austin needed to go to sleep and she would too. So she gathered blankets to share and a pillow for herself. Here she is pretending to sleep.

Don't you wear a crown to breakfast?

Or share it with your faithful steed?
