Eli & Aunt Lori's Two Week Visit

Aunt Lori came to visit for two weeks, both to make memories and help while I had Lasik surgery. Unfortunately, the kids were passing around germs, and Eli caught his first cold while he was here. So while we didn't do any of the outings we had planned, the kids all enjoyed their two weeks of having extra attention and Eli to play with!

Cousins!

Watching a show together

Making Patrick's birthday cards - Eli's first time finger painting
(Note the blue paint already on his lip!)

These two were so great together. They would just spread the toys and books all over and pass them back-and-forth. They spent much of their mornings and afternoons playing like this.

Aunt Lori spent some serious time teaching the kids checkers, and Austin got really into it. I never cease to be amazed at what a 3 year old can actually comprehend if given the time. Any free moment, he would ask Lori to play checkers with him. And he even won one time fairly!

 Happy Birthday Daddy!

Another highlight - playing "Pie Face"

At one point, poor Eli was whining and cranky; so Uncle Patrick put him in the Ergo to hang out while grilling. Eli LOVED going outside for those brief grilling moments. Although we laughed at the amount of snot on the back of Patrick's sweater when he took him out.

Dog pile!

Playing with Colby with Aunt Lori.

We did try to get out of the house a few times - a run to Costco was fun for all!

I took the kids on some walks on the days we got up into the low 40's.

As soon as we approached our neighborhood playground, Austin begged to push Eli in the swings.

Quick trip to our grocery store - watching the lobsters

Showing Eli the big fish on display

I always wondered what they made these carts for at Target....

Austin had fun being Eli's buddy.

Bedtimes were more circus-like with two mobile babies!

Showing Eli how to help Mommy

This girl decided to give Aunt Lori some great memories. She cut her first tooth and crawled while Aunt Lori was here! But I don't know how long she'll be crawling since she discovered the ability to pull up at the same time. So now finding her in this position is normal.

Aunt Lori cut Austin's hair for us and fixed up all of Mommy's mistakes.

Feeding Eli a popsicle treat, sporting my cool post-op shades indoors.

Austin got in on feeding Colleen.

More checkers!

Early morning breakfast snuggles for Uncle Patrick

We introduced Eli to coloring but he was happy to crinkle the paper.

Aunt Lori was always game for reading.

Drooly, snotty sweet boy!

This particular afternoon, Eli and Colleen had bouts of talking and playing with each other.

It might have been freezing out (literally, I think it was right at 34-32degrees this afternoon), but we finally got ourselves to the nearby park to play with Eli.  We started with our post-nap snack.

Even Colleen enjoyed some veggie straws.

Exploring!

Eli and Aunt Rose went up and down, through tunnels and slides. We had fun!

Passing books back-and-forth

Uncle Stevie arrived, and one of the first things they did together was play Pie Face.

Uncle Stevie had to take turns giving attention to everyone. He was in high demand!

Building the tallest skyscraper possible!

On their way to a Daddy-Daughter Valentine's Dance

No stopping this girl on pulling-up now.

Introducing Eli to a NJ diner for breakfast before they left

What an awesome 2 weeks! We can't wait until the next time we can get together again!
