We all got up and went to church on Sunday morning. As we were preparing the kids' bagels, Amelia complained about being tired and lied down on a back pew, completely uncharacteristic. Sure enough, she was running a fever and continued to run it through Tuesday. The sores popped out around her lips and let us know why she had the fever. She was very quarantined from when we came home from church until late Wednesday afternoon; thankfully the virus did not spread to anyone. She spent the days working on art projects, reading books and listening to audiobooks. She was very patient and cheerful, despite being concerned about missing her Valentine's Day party.
Thrilled to be using her pretend nail salon.
During Colleen's naptime, I let Amelia come out into my room and work on more sewing machine reassembly.
We still kept a playdate with Hardy & Toby. As soon as Hardy arrived, he offered to help Austin with his homework.
Colleen, Toby & I played lots of games and drew pictures while the older boys did magic tricks, played games, and put on a "Native American history" show for us.
Amelia had been fever-free all day, so we hit the park after school on Wednesday so she could get some fresh air. Everyone felt so good to be outside.
With his robot valentine mailbox and crayon-valentines we made.
We were so thankful that Amelia had improved because her scheduled ballet observation was on Thursday night. We had gotten a sitter; so Patrick and I were able to watch her class and then take her out to the dinner of her choice - a Chinese restaurant.
A couple of videos from her class
On Valentine's day, an employee at Wegmans gave Colleen a balloon as we were exiting the store. Such a blessing!
I was able to help with Amelia's class party. She took "mailbox" literally when she received the instructions to make one for the party.
Painting with an apple for the letter A.
