Colleen's 1st Birthday Party

Family came to help us celebrate Colleen's 1st Birthday! Grandma, Granddaddy & Uncle Nathan flew in from Alabama, while Pappy traveled from Texas. It was a fun 48 hours previous to party day for the kids; having their family arrive one-by-one kept their excitement up. There was some drama on the night before when Patrick's flight was canceled, and it looked like he was going to miss the party. But God performed a miracle and provided a seat on a flight that wasn't there previously, and so Daddy arrived in the middle of the night to celebrate the next day with his family.

Grandma made sure our food was set up!

Pre-party Shenanigans

Pappy fed Colleen as she was hungry as her guests were arriving.

My friend, Sarah, offered to take my camera and take photos of the party. It was such a blessing!

Because we knew that party-unfriendly weather was possible, we opted to create the kid-party space in our garage. The kids could use the chalkboard, color, build with blocks, use the mini-slide, etc.

As we got closer to the party date and cold, rainy weather was predicted, we hired a balloon & face-painting team to set up for an hour. They were a hit! We were so thankful that it turned out well; all the kids seemed to really enjoy them.

Cake time!

Wandering around after the party in her sunhat that Martha sewed her.

Post-nap exploring

When we brought Colleen home from the hospital, Amelia gave her the nickname 'Sunshine'. So a "You are My Sunshine" themed party seemed to just fit.

I love that Amelia asked to write the lemonade label.

We had such a sweet time celebrating Colleen's birthday. We are so thankful to all the family who came to help and celebrate with us. It has been a crazy, chaotic and blessed year!
